We are currently seeking volunteers for the Mega Matchathon in the following areas:

Match Maker (MM) – evaluate adopter surveys, assist in finding an appropriate “match”, must be comfortable talking with adopters. Required to attend MM training on Thursday March 29, 5:30pm, 2105 Paris Rd. (the old Mid-City Lumber Building) Note: you will not be completing adoptions, but will turn them over to the shelter / rescue once a suspected match is found, they will have the final decision in the adoption.
o Canine MM- Must have basic understanding of canine behavior and breed characteristics.
o Feline MM – Must like cats and understand their unique personalities.
o If you are comfortable with both cats are dogs, you can sign up and help anyone find their match!
Parking Lot – help ensure an even traffic flow and appropriate parking for people getting in and out of the event. We want to make the adoption process smooth and friendly from beginning to end.
Set up / Decorate – all you party people, we need you! No Kill Columbia will provide all of the decorating materials we just need your help sprucing up the place to make it welcoming to visitors. (if you would like to canvas the building prior to the event we can definitely arrange that!)
Lobby Liaison – this is for all you multi-taskers… you will greet visitors as they arrive and clarify how the process works as you pass out the adopter survey. You will also make sure they get paired with a MM to continue on the adoption process.
Kids Room – We will have a special area designated for children with crafts, coloring books and face painting. You must enjoy working with children and being crafty is a plus!
Serving Food / Drinks – Food Handling permit is a plus! You will serve slices of pizza and drinks to visitors. Must be comfortable handling money.
Breakdown / Clean up – one of the most important parts of the event. The owners of Mid-City Lumber were gracious to lend us their property for the event so we want to put it back like we found it! We will need help taking down the decorations and cleaning up. Also, we will help rescues load their vehicles with crates and animals.
